Have you marked your calendars to attend our upcoming meeting at City Church Tharpe Street on October 28 at 6:30 pm? go ahead and do that now, I will wait for you…..
Ok, glad that is done. While you eagerly anticipate our meeting, we have some local things going on that might interest you. This Saturday (October 18) from 8 am – 2pm is the City’s biannual Cash for Trash program. City residential utility customers may bring trash items too large to fit into the 96 gallon garbage container (see, this blog is educational too…who knew our trash cans were 96 gallons?! :)). Bring your items to the Solid Waste Services facility for proper disposal. As a thank you, YOU get rid of your trash AND the City will credit you $5 on your utility bill. So, load up your item(s) and a copy of your City utility bill and head on over to Solid Waste Services. You can visit as many times as you would like on Saturday morning, but you are only allowed one credit per utility bill.
Where is the Solid Waste Facility? Glad you were wondering. It is at 2727 Municipal Way (just off West Pensacola Street near the Messer Field softball complex). What can you bring?
- Old furniture
- Large and small household appliances
- Large toys
- Tires (limit 4 per customer)
- Household hazardous waste
- Electronic items (including all computer parts)
Household garbage, construction/demolition debris and yard waste will not be accepted. For more information, call Your Own Utilities at 891.4968 or visit Talgov.com/YOU.
Nothing says fall like cooler weather, football and the annual pumpkin patch at Gray Memorial United Methodist Church! Be sure to visit our neighbors and get a pumpkin or two to celebrate the season. Volunteers are always friendly and the selection is great. Come on over for a great family photo opportunity and celebrate the season.
Hope to see you out walking the neighborhood and enjoying our beautiful weather. Don’t forget, our quarterly meeting on October 28th at 6:30 pm. Bring a friend. Come meet your neighbors. 🙂 Have a great weekend!
